of their feature on the LensCulture Portrait Awards 2026.

During the 10th anniversary edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival in the UAE — a platform dedicated to visual storytelling — the title of Most Creative Photographer of the festival was awarded.
The recognition was presented at the closing gala ceremony by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, whose patronage has played a defining role in the development and international presence of the festival.
Such moments mark a distinct shift in the trajectory of a body of work. What is shaped within a controlled and often isolated process begins to enter a broader cultural field — intersecting with institutions, audiences, and structures of recognition that extend beyond the immediate artistic environment.
Recognition at this level operates on multiple layers: as a professional acknowledgment within the photographic community, as a public validation through institutional visibility, and as a gesture of attention from figures whose influence defines cultural direction on a wider scale.
The work itself remains unchanged, yet its position evolves — moving into a space where its resonance is no longer confined to its origin, but continues to unfold across new contexts.

As part of the annual visual storytelling festival Xposure 2026 in the United Arab Emirates, the series Russia At Dusk was presented in a stage talk format, combining a clear account of the project’s development with broader context and direct observation. The presentation outlined how the series originated, how it was produced over several years, and how each shoot was constructed, while also focusing on the people portrayed — their lives, circumstances, and personal stories that shaped the images.
The talk was supported by on-screen materials from the shoots, including behind-the-scenes moments and references that revealed the process and sources of inspiration behind the work. This format allowed the audience not only to understand the project’s background, but to see how it was built in practice. The series drew particularly close attention at the festival, as many visitors and participants encountered it in this form for the first time.
